Sports and Healthy Living
The Hamble Valley offers a host of sporting and leisure activities ranging from sailing on the Solent, watersports, fishing, golf, cricket, football, cycling, horse riding, leisure pursuits at a local leisure centre, walking through the beautiful countryside or relaxing with some pampering at one of the spa hotels.

The stunning 150 acre development of Hampshire Cricket Club at The Rose
Bowl in West End is predominantly a 1st class international status cricket
oval, dedicated to sport but is also a premier venue for entertainment,
leisure and recreation.
If you are a golfer, choose from courses at Fleming Park Leisure Centre
in Eastleigh (9 or 18 hole pay as you play green), The Rose Bowl (Hampshire
Cricket Ground) at West End (9 hole pay as you play) and Botley Park Hotel
on the edge of Botley (18 hole green).
For a breath of fresh air and to meet other people, join a healthwalk around
the parishes of the Hamble Valley. These take place Monday to Friday every
week throughout the year. They are free, last about an hour - just turn
up at your chosen walk. And if you love walking, be it long, short, guided
or self-guided walks, please also see the Great
Outdoors section within this guide, where there are details of many
walks and trails around the Hamble Valley.
See our Waterside Lifestyle pages within this
guide for details of getting involved in water sports including contacts
for yachting schools, clubs and course fishing, canoeing, model boating,
windsurfing and dinghy sailing.
The country parks offer a range of activities during the school holidays
for children and teenagers
(see Great Outdoors section), such as a hobbies day at Royal Victoria Country Park where you can try all sorts of sports and activities, as does Fleming Park Leisure Centre with football, tennis, golf, trampolining and swimming for example, and Marwell Activity Centre with archery, abseiling, quad bikes and much more.
