Romeo and Juliet arrive at Manor Farm Country ParkPosted on: 03rd Feb 12 ![]() These two little ducklings, aptly named Romeo and Juliet, have arrived just in time for the romantic season at Manor Farm Country Park. The pair can be seen nestling in the hatchery when the farm reopens for half term, Saturday 11th-Sunday 19th February. As the first new arrivals on the farm this year they mark the start of the busy spring season which will see the arrival of plenty of lambs, chicks, calves and bunnies.
To honour these two fluffy winged arrivals, Manor Farm Country Park will be holding a week of feathered fun this half term. Visit the farm to feed the ducks, chickens, geese and guinea fowl and see if you can find Rambo our resident colourful cockerel. Also take part in our farmyard bird trail or get creative with feathery crafts in the farmhouse. If you feel like exploring the Country Park you can test your detective skills on the puzzle trail to find the missing ducks and on Wednesday 15th you can join the rangers on a bird hunt through the woods before building your very own bird box.
Debbie Underwood, Farm Ranger, said "Indian Runners are always a favourite with visitors and it’s a great laugh watching them waddle around the yard, but they're definitely cutest when they are all fluffily like these two!" For more information on any of our half term events visit www.hants.gov.uk/manorfarm or call 01489 787055.
Small charges apply for some activities. Places for bird box building must be booked in advance. |
