With 440 acres of outdoor space, Itchen Valley Country Park is an ideal for a day out. Waymarked trails help you explore the different areas of the Park and there are picnic sites throughout the site along with a shop and café, play areas and special activities for children.

Directions:

Leave M27 at junction 5; follow signs for West End.

Opening times:

Park open 8am – dusk every day. Visitor centre open every day 10.30am – 5.00pm April – August and weekends only September – March.

Admission:

No admission charges, but please phone for current car parking charges.

A visit to Marwell Wildlife is a chance to get close to the wonders of the natural world – and play a big part in helping to save them. Bursledon Brickworks Industrial Museum is all set to become one of the key visitor attractions in the South. The only remaining steam driven brickworks in the country we show how brick making made the leap from small scale production to 20 million bricks a year.
The fully restored and working machinery helped us to win the coveted Institute of Mechanical Engineering Heritage Award in 2011 and on Open Days we can show it all running as it was when it ceased producing bricks. On site you can see the patented method adopted to dry the bricks and the huge kiln block that was used to fire them ready for collection. The museum has other clay based collections on site and lots of opportunities on offer which makes a visit both enjoyable and educational.

Directions:

Swanwick Lane is off A27 opposite Swanwick Marina signposted by brown heritage road signs.

Opening times:

The museum is open Thursdays 10am until 4pm. Entrance fee: Adults £3, concessions £2, accompanied child £1.

Go Ape is a tree top adventure based in the heart of Itchen Valley Country Park, nr Eastleigh. We take one lush, green forest and a healthy dollop of breathtaking scenery; blend with a smattering of tree-top high wires, tricky crossings and wind-in-your-face zip wires; finished off with a liberal dose of people in search of their inner Tarzan. The result is spectacular. The Go Ape experience gets the adrenalin pumping, gets people out of their comfort zones and above all (no pun intended), it’s just great fun. We hope to see you swinging through the trees soon!
