The Hamble Valley is a great place for children to explore and discover with activities taking place all year round at the country parks, gardens and nature reserves, such as pond dipping at Itchen Valley Country Park or a meander through the meadows at Lakeside Country Park, where children can enjoy a ride on the Eastleigh Lakeside Steam Railway. Royal Victoria Country Park in Netley offers waterside views and plenty of picnic spaces along with the Royal Victoria Steam Railway. Discover Manor Farm Country Park with woodland trails and river walks.

Enjoy Hampshire’s wildlife on the River Hamble, where the mudflats and saltmarshes are habitats for wildfowl and wading birds. Swanwick Lakes Nature Reserve is a beautiful place to walk and see butterflies during the summer. Explore gardens such as Sir Harold Hillier Gardens, which has a wide range of rhododendrons and azaleas along with the scents of summer flowers.
