Hamble

Discover the delightful maritime village Hamble le Rice ( as it is officially known, 'rice' meaning small hill), renowned as the South coast's yachting Mecca. Here visitors can take in the superb views of the Hamble river and marinas from the Quay at the bottom of the High Street. The older part of the village is centred around the priory church of St. Andrews with many older buildings clustered between the curch and the river.
Explore the village square and high street with its
small shops and attractive old houses, parts of which date back
to 1550. Tasty food can be sampled in The Village Tea Rooms which
was once a coffin and rope makers, and at Compass Point Cafe, a
fisherman's cottage in 1700.
There are lovely views of the river from the quay which is an ideal
spot to linger and watch the world go sailing by.
Enjoy a boat trip up the Hamble River with Blue Star Boats and take
in the beauty of the river, see the creeks and tidal inlets, the
marinas and historical Elephant Boatyard.
Soak up the atmosphere in the yearly event, Hamble week, take a river boat cruise or walk along the coast and open countryside of Hamble Common
