Places to eat & drink in the Hamble Valley

Within the Hamble Valley there are plenty of pubs, restaurants and tea rooms where good food and drink is on the menu. Whether you want to indulge in homemade fresh food, speciality dishes or perhaps take advantage of the wide open spaces available for a picnic or to hire a barbeque at one of the country parks, the Hamble Valley is sure to whet your appetite.

Food has played an important part in the history of the region, from the thousand of lbs of strawberries which were loaded onto special trains bound for London, Manchester and Glasgow to the 20,000 oysters that were sent from the monks of Benedictine Priory of St Andrew in hamble (now the parish of St Andrew the Apostle) to their brethern in WInchester during each Lent.

Nowadays you can buy freshly ground flour from Bursledon Windmill to take home or you can sample award winning wines at Wickham Vineyard after enjoying an audio tour around the vineyards, not forgetting to purchase supplies for home!
