The Hamble Valley boasts a varied programme of cultural events. Whether your interest is in performing arts, live music, film, dance, cabaret or comedy, venues such as The Point and Concorde Club in Eastleigh always deliver the highest quality of entertainment.
The Point in Eastleigh, situated in the beautifully refurbished Victorian town hall, is a 300-seat theatre which hosts a variety
of contemporary arts events. During the summer the performances extend into the adjacent Dancing Garden.
Recent celebrity appearances at The Point include Colin Dexter and Rodney Bewes.
Point Bright Sparks which takes place in the Easter holidays
and October half-term offers a feast of film, workshops and live theatre especially for children.
Wickham Vineyard offers an atmospheric setting for summer outdoor Shakespeare plays, and Royal Victoria Country Park this year hosts a flamboyant concert by the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra.
Set in a beautiful old school house on the edge of Eastleigh, the internationally renowned Concorde Club boasts a full and diverse entertainment programme. Originally set up as a jazz club, the venue now hosts a wide spectrum of events including live music six nights a week of various genres.
The Club also boasts an excellent wine bar called the Moldy Fig. In 2007, the club welcomed Stacey Kent for the UK launch of her latest album. George Melly played one of his last ever gigs here and other visitors include Dame Cleo Laine and husband Sir John Dankworth, their two children Alec and Jacqui Dankworth, Georgie Fame, award-winning vocalist Clare Teal, the Big Chris Barber Band and Elkie Brooks.

The Club’s diverse entertainment programme includes cabaret dinners, fashion shows, wine tastings, events for ladies, an annual beer festival and summer ball, tribute bands, DJs and dancing, as well as business networking events.
If shopping is your passion, there are plenty of opportunities to indulge. As well as High Street shopping opportunities in the towns and villages (especially Botley), there are craft shops and boutiques at Botley Mills and Chesapeake Mill in Wickham, large flapship superstores at Hedge End and relaxed indoor shopping at the Swan Centre in Eastleigh. Look out for special markets and events held at local attractions throughout the year where art, crafts, local food and drink, garden plants and furniture, boats and boating equipment are sold.

Concorde Club |
The Concorde Club is a private members club with a diverse entertainment programme including live music 6 nights a week of various genres. The Concorde Club plays a host to a stream of international jazz celebrities such as Kenny Ball, John Dankworth, the BBC Big Band, Humphrey Lyttelton and Georgie Fame. Their Wednesday International jazz evenings are open for non members and it is wise to book in advance.
